The Diamond Peak National Ski Patrol started in 1969. It was founded by Dusty Trembly who had been patrolling Diamond Peak Ski Resort since its opening in 1966. Dusty has received The National Ski Patrol's Distinguished Service Award. And be sure to take a run down Dusty's Delight the next time you are at the mountain.
Diamond peak has 6 lifts, 1840 vertical feet and 655 acres of awesome terrain and breath-taking views. The ski area averages 130 days a year or operation and the volunteer patrol helps by covering about 50 of those days.
The Diamond Peak National Ski Patrol is a proud member of the National Ski Patrol, a federally chartered, volunteer driven, nonprofit membership association established in 1938. The association's 27,500 members and 600 patrols represent 98 percent of the nation's paid and volunteer ski and snowboard patrollers. The Diamond Peak National Ski Patrol consists of over 40 volunteers and 12 paid patrollers. Over 95% of our patrollers return year after year, three of them for over 30 years, five for over 15 years, four for over 10 years and ten for over 5 years and we have seven new candidates this year.
